巴 Tomoe Pocket Tee for Toddlers
You know how you recognize a Japanese symbol & pattern because you see it on kimonos, temples or different types of Asian art?
It took some researching, this Japanese fabric showcases a comma-like swirl symbol called the tomoe 巴.
The tomoe is a symbol that goes way back, found on ancient Chinese ceramics and books. It's also found in Korea & Japan.
Tomoe is also an emblem with various designs and is a crest used by different clans & samurai. This whirlpool pattern links to Taoism plus Shinto rituals & used early on to avoid evil & be the magic of good fortune.
